You are entitled to your opinion, but after four years of Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump, I believe that an intelligent, honest candidate like Cruz will look very good. Hillary got the opponent that she was praying for in her good friend, Donald Trump.

I've never actually heard a good reason for political parties. Every time I ask someone that question they simply say well thats the way its always been. I think if people could view candidates without the democrat or GOP lenses then it would force people to actually examine what their beliefs are and what candidate best aligns with their beliefs. I'm casting my vote for a third party candidate that I feel actually cares about the same things I do, because I can't fathom the thought of voting for someone because of the little letter next to their name, or because of some crazy idea that " a vote for a 3rd party candidate is a vote for Hillary, or vise-versa." My vote means too much to me to cast it for someone I don't believe in.

Collectivism brings people together, by force if necessary. Some things are more important than going along to get along. Cruz advocates personal liberty and economic freedom, and he has done more to protect those freedoms than any candidate who has run for president in many years. If you are not familiar with the Supreme Court cases that he has argued and won on your behalf, then you should acquaint yourself with them.

 

The Medellin case was a big victory that Cruz argued and won that held that the Bush administration had no right to enforce a decision by the International Court of Justice in the state of Texas. The Heller case was a very important win that struck down an unconstitutional gun control law in DC.

 

The Republican Party is not currently a conservative party. Conservatives like Ted Cruz are despised by moderate GOP leaders like McConnell, Ryan, and John Boehner. They are the ones who ran and were elected as conservatives and then cut numerous deals with Obama to facilitate passage of major parts of his political agenda. If that is your idea conservatism, then I refer you to the words of a true conservative:

All of this while the demographics of the USA continue to make their position more and more regional and less national. Reince Priebus and his peers are RINOs. To posit that the Republican Party is controlled by the "far right wing" sounds like words that would roll off of Hillary Clinton's forked tongue.

 

Trump is the GOP nominee because the RINOs who control the nomination process tried to rig the process in Jeb Bush's favor by front loading open primaries in conservative states and scheduling most of the winner take all contests for the latter part of the primary season. Trump dispensed with squishy moderate Jeb with nothing but a string of personal insults and the non-conservative lane was his for the taking.

 

If the GOP is determined to nominate a series of Clinton friends and associates to run against liberal Democrats, then why should conservatives care if the party implodes or is transformed into something different? The GOP leadership knives conservative Republicans in the back at every opportunity. I would be surprised if McConnell, McCain, Eric Canter, and other prominent RINOs do not vote for Hillary, although all of them will deny it.
