Highlands 48 Boone County 28

Good job boy's. Yet another one under your belt.

Horrendous opening quarter for Boone put them in a hole. It looked like the Birds could score 70 but then the game settled down and Boone's offense started to work. There were some aggravating calls by the refs but Boone's own mistakes hurt them more than the refs. Boone's defense couldn't slow down Highlands offense. #24 is a fine athlete running the ball. And the Birds QB is very effective.

Kudos to Boone's Brandon Morgan for running tough and scoring down on the goal line several times. Those are the hardest 3 yards to gain. The kid just produces. He also got a pic 6 at the end of the first half on an ill-advised shovel pass on a broken play.

Congrats to Highlands for coming out fast and keeping the pedal to the metal to get the W.

The silver lining for Boone is that the offense scored more points than it has all year. They are putting some things together and they have improved. Tates Creek comes to Owen Hauck Stadium next week for round 1 of the playoffs. So back to work tomorrow.

I thought that might have been the case. Was Boone given short fields, or were they able to drive down on Highlands?

Boone was able to drive on the Birds.
