I know the High School I attended has built a career and technology center. Students are graduating with certifications in automotive tech, welding, electrical tech, and business certifications. Most of the students that come out of these programs graduate with a job waiting for them the day they graduate. I think we need to start promoting this is as serviceable alternative to college. We are promoting it. KY has a viable college and career readiness program that pushes HS students to graduate with certifications in areas that you mentioned. Both sets of students ( college and technical) need help so they don't start in a hole. Education is way too expensive today.

Let's be clear here - not increasing the national debt means running a balanced budget over a four year period. This is a whopper. Trump once claimed that he would eliminate the national debt in only 8 years. That was a lie. Hillary's claim is also a very obvious lie. What a country this will be after four years under the "leadership" of either one of these shysters.

We push and push common core and other educational objectives clearly designed to get as many kids into college as possible. Then more and more kids go to graduate school which is even more expensive and there are even less scholarships available. In my opinion our education is falling because students are coming out of primary and secondary schooling less prepared for the real world than ever before. Our educational efforts need to lie in this area not post secondary education.
