Danville 35 Boyle County 33

Featured Replies

I was there and thought Boyle responded very well with the way the game started. That is a VERY good sign. I was impressed with the way they contained the run for the most part. I was curious to see how they would handle the ADS speed. Danville has to improve their pass coverage. But I see both teams doing very well the rest of the way now that the big rivalry game is over. I'm looking forward to the showdown between Mercer and Boyle now. Boyle impressed me. If that's what it's like to be down then it shows you what kind of program Boyle has. Congrats again to both teams.

A great game tonight. The Ads blocked two Boyle County punts early in the game and this is probably what cost Boyle the victory. I actually thought Boyle was the slightly better team (and I am an Admiral fan).

One thing is for sure. Danville's pass defense is absolutely horrendous. Boyle burned them over and over with the same plays, running simple streaks and fly patterns down the field. The defense never adjusted EVER. The defensive coordinators should have to run laps after the showing tonight.

I was really surprised by Boyle's decision to run the ball on a 3rd and long late in the 4th quarter after they had shredded the Admiral pass defense all night long. Actually, shocked is a better description. The Ads tried to lose the game with their usual fumbles and miscues but held on nonetheless.

I hate to sound so "negative" with such a big win, but Danville was very fortunate to get the W tonight.

On the plus side, the Ads played with heart and intensity which was very encouraging. Now if they can just improve on their pass defense and cut down on the turnovers.

From what I hear this was a great game by both teams. Rebels grew a lot tonight and are starting to pull it together for the rest of the season.

Heard also that Hilton (going both ways) had a nice game tonight, including a fumble recovery.

First, let me start in saying, I agree, Danville, in some ways, was lucky to win tonite, but when you have two of the top knotch teams in the state year-in-year out, play...then sometimes, you have to be a little lucky, it's all part of it.

But, what kills me is this, it's easy to talk and/or bash someone behind a screename on a computer, but you made the comment about "danville's defensive coordinators needing to run laps after tonite", welll, to that i say, COMPLETE CRAP!! It's easy to say that on here, but I'd like to see if you would say that to JERRY PERRY's face, (D'ville''s Def. Coordinator)..because, I have a feeling that you or anybody else in their right mind wouldn't!! That is LOW!! Bottom Line!!

Since you know it all, I tell you what you need to do, go tell Jerry what it is he needs to do on defense..see how that goes over!! When was the last time you played in the secondary, and what team was it you played for?!?!

In saying this, you seem to be a Danville supporter, but in my opinion, their is no excuse for making a comment like that. If you make a comment like that, on a MESSAGE BOARD about YOUR team, when it wins a big game, but give up some points, then don't go congratulating Jerry Perry or any of the Danville coaches win they do a good job, especially if you are one these who talks bad behind their backs, but offers congratulation to their face win they win!

Easy guys! Let's keep it on the game.

O.K., guys. Cool it. Game comments only please, no more back-and-forth.

What will the Admirals do to prevent John Cole from having 4 touchdownds like he did against SW??

That is a very good question actually. The answer: I don't know.

I said it would be interesting and that it was! Danville has got to quit giving up the big pass play and quit fumbling the ball! Boyle played a very good game and I think will be very dangerous team before the season is over!;)

Congrats Ads!:thumb: Sounds as if I missed a good one!

I was really proud of the Rebels tonight. After last week's loss and the two touchdowns they spotted the Ads I was afraid it was gonna get UGLY! I am proud of the way they took the first two punches but never laid down. It certainly bodes well for the future. Another Classic Titletown Showdown!

GO REBELS!!!

Don't know how many of you have coached a team before but you can have the best well laid plan(s) for your offense/defense until you put the team on the field. Talk, teach and practice but the players are the ones that execute the plan and if the player(s) don't get it, boom, it blows up in their face. The player is on the field and the coach is on the sidelines (not in on the play).

I was impressed and proud of how our team stepped up (on a down year - don't ya know);) and played such a good game against, what is always, a good team. It doesn't get much better than a Danville/Boyle game. It's a big deal for these kids and for this town. The only problem with what a lot of people think, it doesn't get ugly, and that in itself is a testimony to the fine coaches, players and fans of this town. I think that Boyle County grew up last night and has shown why they are always in the hunt. I enjoyed watching the defense tonight. There are still some areas that they need to work on but that will come with practice and they will get there. These kids could have laid down after those 2 early touchdowns by Danville but they didn't and for that alone they have to be commented. I think that Danville has a team that their fans can be very proud of. There are some really really good players on that team and I see a good outcome to their year. Boyle County has some really young players but I think they proved tonight that they aren't to be taken lightly. This game should prove to them that they can play with the "big dogs" and this should make them want to improve even more and THEY WILL!!! I was just sorry that one group of those kids out there on the field last night had to lose because both sides played a heck of a game and I enjoyed watching every minute of it. Speaking as a proud Aunt, I couldn't have asked for my nephew to have given anymore than he did and I think that everyone can say the same for every kid out there on that field. As for going for 2 points instead of the, "for sure extra point", I'm not the coach and I feel sure THE COACH had a good reason why he made that decision. I would have been thrilled with a "W" last night but to see these kids play as well as they did was a joy!!!!! GO REBELS!!!!!!

Good Job Ads!! Sounds like it was a night for the 1A powers.

Wow sounds like a great game. Where was it played?

Congrats to Danville.:dancingpa

I'm not sure about that either but Josh Miller had 4 last night and it wasn't good enough to get a win.
