Ryle 32 NewCath 20

Featured Replies

I think he gets back for the first district game and that is great news for this football team. Ryle will have a very good year.

Wow I am surprised. NCC must have really taken a hit to graduation.

Congrats to the raiders, but to say the game was not close is wrong.6 to 0 at the half.the Breds played sloppy,6 turnovers and 3 of them in the redzone. They will get it together though by the playoffs. It is a long season.A few less dropped passes and turnovers and it is a different game. Our defence played there butts off and has to be dead tired. They were on the field tonight forever.

So, 26-0 near the end of the third quarter is a close game? NC scored their last TD after a fumble by Ryle's backup running back. NC will have a good year but Ryle would absolutely throttle them when our QB returns. NC did not have to defend the pass and still gave up 5 TDs. Ryle returned a pick to the 1 and a questionable clip call brought it back 70 yards.

Here's the story on this one.

NCC turnovers killed any chance to win this game.

NCC stuffed Ryle in the first series of the game only to have QB Harris drop the first snap and give the ball to Ryle on the 18. Ryle would then score to take a 6-0 lead.

The rest of the first half could best be described as follows:

Ryle just runs the ball, NCC defense stops them, and then Ryle punts terribly.

NCC then takes the ball and then throws an interception or fumbles.

One really ugly half of football that looked like something out of the 1960s when teams could not throw the ball.

NCC had every chance to take the lead at the half but turned it over time after time.

Harris threw two INTs in or near the endzone and I believe 4 total. Harris also fumbled twice and Vickers once or twice, plus the NCC receivers had 4 flat out drops. Give credit to the Ryle secondary for catching Harris' errent throws for INTs.

Ryle did not make any mistakes on offense by not throwing the ball or fumbling and scored when given the short fields by NCC's turnover filled offense. Ryle's only mistakes came in the punting game. They will be a handful in 4A when they get the QB back. Gray and Murray are a handful and will get better when they get a passing game. PUnting has to improve though.

NCC can line up under center with a fullback leading Vickars and scrap the 3 and 4 wide receiver shotgun stuff and be fine in the district, although that probably won't get it done versus Beechwood or in the playoffs.

Be interesting to see if they go back to basics against CovCath next week or stick with the no huddle multiple wide-outs.

Untill the defence was flat exhausted Ryle did not move the ball.Say what you want, but the D needed rest and could not get it.Like I said though Ryle's D played great and there O played mistake free and they wore us down. They deserve the win and clearly won.NCC will fix these problems and be fine.

Yeah, they lost their QB, one of the best in NKY, and their 2 top recievers.

Sounds like 2 bad teams going at it.

Not bad teams, just teams not anywhere near their potential yet.

When you only have 1 true QB healthy for both teams combined and that one hasn't played in two years and is throwing INTs all over the place it makes for a bad game.

Add in wind and rain and fumbles and bad punts and it gets worse.

Scottie Gray was the answer. 4 TD's and defensive INT's. On an cool evening like this I would suggest not throwing to this kid's side of the field because he will make you pay for any bad pass thrown his way, and once he has the ball in his hands he becomes a running back again. I wont butcher his name on here but #8 is a very good compliment to #3 at saftey on that side of the ball. Vince Murrary showed on his 79 yard TD run how dangerous he is, and that's after playing the whole night at MLB too.... Can't wait to see what the Raiders will look like when they can open the offense up more with there QB because they have two receivers in #12 and #25 who I think can make big plays if given the chance.

What happened to Ryle's QB?

I believe he got a broken jaw in the CovCath scrimmage....

Think this has something to do with NCC starting a lot of guys both ways and Ryle running over and over again.
