Southern Illinoisan Newspaper Apologizes for Offensive Cartoon

Featured Replies

Illinois is screwed up from the top to the bottom.

Not just Illinois newspaper editors that are like this.

Local newspaper reporter went on a Facebook rant calling a Trooper that he doesn't know a couple of names not fit for BGP. Why, because he was broke down and Trooper didn't stop.

Of course trooper could have been responding to a higher priority call than a motorist assist, could have been talking with dispatch at the time and was just paying attention to the road or any of a number of other things that were higher priority.

This guy would hear none of that and continued calling unknown trooper several names and questioning his intelligence.

Joel Pett would be proud .

I don't know what is more dumb, that a cartoonist thought it was clever, or that an Editor thought it was a good fit for the paper.

LOVE the response from the police chief in that market!

I like the comments on the newspapers fb page. One said police routinely murder people. Blows my mind that there are people that misinformed out there.
