If you want to win championships, my opinion is you should have at least one, and better two, teams on your schedule that you are the underdog to. The coaches learn about players and the players learn how to win championship games by being pushed to their limit and beyond in tough games during the season.

 

I agree with this but I think SK thought with the addition of HHS and Bryan Station and the continued games with Ryle and Cooper they would have at least one of those type games. I would love to see the St X scrimmage turn into a regular season game. If not add Scott Co, a Cincy or other Louisville team.

Says who? Were 2yrs drawn from a state title! When was your team's last one? The Jr class at Highlands saw Beau Hoge and them win a title.

SK cannot, at this point, hang with the Cincy big schools. Elder, Mo, X or Colerain would eat them alive and get nothing out of a game against them. It certainly would not prepare the Cincy schools for the competition they will face in their playoffs. I doubt those schools would even entertain an offer to play SK right now. Maybe they could get an Anderson, or Fairfield, but not a GCL top tier program.

I have no idea. But I have trouble believing that Highlands ducked SK during 06-09. The 2008 SK team was not as good as some people like to say. They were dominated by NCC that year and were the 4 sead going into the playoffs. They got hot/a very week side of bracket and made it to the state championship where it wasn't a game from the first snap. Highlands would have beaten the 06, 07, and 08 SK teams by whatever score they wanted. The 09 team could have competed but I would guess would have lost by 2-3 scores to Highlands.

 

2009 was the best team they've fielded. It would have been a great game to see for sure.
