As Plato mentions, it happens in the classroom, too. I had a student go off on a profane tirade directed at me. He received a 25 minute lunch detention...and that's if he actually even served it.

If respect isn't taught at home and it isn't expected in schools, I'm not sure how it will be learned. I'd say unless they choose to go into the military, it's simple not going to get learned.

If I get the paddle out or a good strong switch and use it on the behind, I'm going to prison. That's what's missing in raising kids.

 

My teachers would just now be getting out on probation for some of the beat downs they laid on me and my classmates if they taught under today's rules

Events like this have to be on the rise nation wide. It makes LEO jobs that much more difficult.

 

How can the lack of respect for police be changed if the only thing we ever see and hear is bad about cops?

Many people won't accept responsibility for their own actions today and they sure won't stand by and watch little Johnny or Susie be disciplined or corrected either.

 

If a kid is failing, it's the teachers fault.

If they lose a game, it's the coaches fault.

If they shoplift, it's the stores fault.

If they get arrested, it's the cops fault.

 

Kids grow up in a lot of cases never being told they are wrong at home.

This girl was in the wrong and I have no issue with how the officer handled it.

Just an observation---I think the girl is emotionally/mentally disturbed from her overall reaction to the officers. I have seen kids with mental issues react that way.
