Aaron was the best QB Indy had today.

Maybe Mike McCarthy is what is wrong with him. Changed the whole game plan of the last two weeks.

Ironically when I left for work the Packers were down 31-13 and Aaron had thrown for about 130 yards and the 4th Quarter was starting. By the time I got to work he was up to 297 and 3 TDs.

 

The last two games the Packers had gotten away from the vertical game and were throwing more short passes and using the hybrid WR/RB out of the backfield. Today they seemed to go back to the vertical game and a more traditional approach with Don Jackson at RB. Ironically when they used packages with Ty Montgomery as the RB the offense looked much better. I wish I could have seen the whole 4th quarter to see what they did differently in the 4th quarter compared to the first 3 quarters.

Same thing that happens in all of these game when QBs light it up in the 4th quarter. The defense was in a more prevent coverage. It is a classic game where fantasy football tricks people into believing Rodgers did his part.

Agreed. I figured that may be the case but I'm sure we'll see he is still in the top 5 of QBR. I still won't be convinced he is doing better than 7-8 QBs right now.

And I like the QBR metric, but it has its flaws. Tom Brady, for example, generally doesn't rate super high with QBR, but there is no other QB I would take. For me it is the eye test. Rodgers is seen by a multitude (and I don't necessarily disagree) as the most physically gifted QB of all time. His supporting cast isn't great, but it is not chopped liver either. Great QBs make those around them look better than they are. Anyone seen some of the teams Brady carried on his back? I am not sure Rodgers, with the way he has performed the better part of two seasons now, is capable of the same.

In the last 20 games, Cleveland’s QBs have as many 300-yard passing games (3) as Aaron Rodgers.

 

Just curious, how many of those yards for Cleveland QBs come before the fourth quarter when they are already down 3 scores? That has to factor in.
