You have no idea how close I came to posting those exact words. :lol2:

@MentschTrachtGottLacht @LRCW, y'all the homies. :lol2:

That's funny. I did see he posted a player who hasn't been on UK's team in over 10 years was busted for drug possession so it would balance out.

Anyone shocked by this?

I am not shocked by anything illegal these days, that gets a free pass.:no:

For the legal beagels....what is the legal definition of 'on hand'?

I was wondering the same thing. I've been waiting for someone to comment.

The opinion contemplates that point but never really comes down on it anywhere. It would be tough to pin down a perfect definition.

It's a strange phrase to use. And he didn't even use the common phrase "on hand"; the actual request says "in hand", which to my own reading, would make the request even more ludicrously narrow.

The opinion quotes a case from a few years ago in which the scope of the request is determined to be adequately specific if "a reasonable person could adequately understand the scope of the request." There's no way anyone could read that and think the requestor's intent is to get only those documents which President Ramsey physically had on him at the time.

In short, the poorly worded request left UofL room to try and sidestep it and Louisville also still darned well knew what the request was looking for and either should have provided it or given adequate reason as to why not, rather than flippantly declare in a one-sentence response that President Ramsey didn't have them.

In all fairness, UofL isn't the only state school trying to skirt open records laws these days.

AG could join UK newspaper in legal battle

It's looks both Bevin and Beshear are trying to do something not many have in the past. Fight back against the two largest institutions in the state that mostly go unchallenged.

The nerve of both just to say "no". Shows how little they have been challenged in the past.
