I saw someone post that the white swimmer rapist got a MUCH lighter sentence than a black man who was falsely accused of rape. To me (middle aged white guy), this injustice is much more obvious than incidents where a person of color is committing a crime, resists, and it results in death.

 

What incident(s) do you point to and say - no doubt about it, the police (and only the police) were completely out of line here and it resulted in a person of color's death?

 

It's hard for me because I feel the media dilutes the truth so much that Fox reports that the person was committing a crime just before they were shot even if they weren't, while the rest of the media reports racism even when a black cop shoots a black criminal who was actually pointing a gun at him.

I'm not looking for a police bash. I actually have a disposition that in almost all the hot topic cases the circumstances were created by the people of color.

In an effort to try to live outside my "white privilege" world I'm asking for examples where the person of color was truly an innocent victim.

:thumb:Short of having a video of OJ killing them at best the prosecution could have hoped for was a hung jury. While they dropped the ball and allowed the not guilty verdict, there was no way at least some of the jurors were voting guilty.

OJ Simpson got off because the jury was still angry at the city over the Rodney King situation. The prosecution could have been at the top of their game, that jury was getting even. Heck, a few of them have actually admitted it since then.

So the one example given is along the line of black privilege.

 

That wasn't really what I was asking for but ok.
