All Purple fans going into the season knew our offense was going to be an A+. Many questioned our Defense. So far, the Purples Defense should be getting a very similar grade as the Purples offense. Most agree that John Hardin and Christian County have above average offensive power and our Defense held each of those two teams just 1 TD. If starting unit stays on field we easily score in the 60s against maybe 2 TDs against us.

 

Purples have yet to punt the ball this season with starters. 12 scores out of 13 first half drives for our offense. Here is the scary part: 9 out of 10 teams that could have Caruthers in their backfield would win many games by just running him. BG uses him fewer runs than probably any other team would/could due to our other weapons. Unless Clark Payne just has a really bad night, Purples should run the table. Heck, if Payne does have a bad night just give it to Caruthers every play.

 

St X is huge which always help keep their offense on the field and ours off the field. A few years ago at WKU some may remember that their defense would give up a lot of points in the second half due to the fact that their offense would score so quickly. That's the only real problem that I can foresee happening this year with the purples. Our offense will score so quickly our defense against a really good team has the chance to get gassed. Other than that I think we're on our way to get another ring. Quite an amazing run!

LOL.... Nope, I'm not a purple koolaid kinda guy. Just giving credit where credit is due. This is just a real good, if not great football team.

If this game is close at halftime I really like the Tigers chance of finishing it off and pulling out a win! I love the under dog role should really fire them up!

Interesting point Tiger, as BG hasn't played in any close games this year and X just got finished roaring back with 42 straight points in a gritty win. Could be interesting...

Just trying to keep things in perspective...BG beat CC pretty good last year before the X game. CC is typically very athletic...but not necessarily the best of coached teams.

You may be right, I don't know, but Christian is still a very good team.

how big are St X corners? they will have to play over the top on all bubble screens meaning corners have to play less than 3yards off the ball and fight over blocks of WRs if Dangelo and Curuathers or Kenner get space it will a long day .make BG sustain long drives something they don't do well

 

That sustained drive and dominating time of possession thing is kind of tough when the goal line keeps getting in the way.

I agree with that. Not too many teams in the last decade plus have gone into the EL and walked out with a W. The those that did had to play all 4 quaryerrs and then some to earn a victory.

Well, if your right, I'm not a real good judge of football, I was impressed by CC and BG had no problem with them. I hope BG wins this weekend.

BG East Little League will be honored at halftime of the game. This has been a can't miss atmosphere since they renewed the series in 2011; wish I lived closer so I could attend!
