Just got back from practice! Averaging 23 kids three days a week for fall workouts! We are just fine. I have a little time to talk football though!

Yes some people did and I was one of them. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to determine the athletic ability of certain classes. It was obvious watching them as I did when they were growing up. Some people are never realistic in their evaluations of their own kids. JUST SAYIN!!

Is it running the score up when the JV comes in and the second half and was still better than the opposing varsity? We don't dress freshman in the regular season.

Doesn't matter really who is playing in the game. If you are up on teams by 4TDs and continue to score, whatever players are doing the scoring, it is running the score up.

 

I'm not saying not to do it, I'm just pointing out the fact that it has happened again and again then don't be upset at how fans from other teams react when they finally beat that team who has run the score up in them year in and year out.

 

Mothers is a way to stop running the scores up. Just letting you know.

Completley disagree and this is the reason I say perceptions are a huge factor when we are talking about running up the score. If a JV team continues to score agaisnt a teams first team, then that's a problem I'd address internally. Not whine about running up a score. And if I was on the losing end and the JV played the second half for both teams, then it's really two separate games. Now I'm using the second half as a learning experience for a whole different set of players. If both jvs are in the second half, I wouldn't want the other teams JV to "take it easy on us". I would approach It as whole new game with a completely different group that now has learning opportunities. But parents and fans claim "running up the score". In my opinion, couldn't be further from the truth.

Yes. There are several ft Thomas kids in the Red Devils org right now. Including HHS parents that are in the RD administration and coaching teams out there. Maybe more than ever.

To be fair, there were plenty of HHS fans who told me personally before last season started that they would struggle because of what they lost and what they had coming back after the 2014 season. I was told by several the QB play last year was going to be pretty rough before the season started and they were 100% correct. They also said their line play was going to be a work in progress because of what they lost and they were correct there too.

 

I knew last year after just the first 10 mins into the season last year when Cooper was walking all over HHS in the first game of the season that HHS would have L's by SK, Ryle and some other NKY teams last year. It wasn't hard to see. They were down and even with a "DI" QB they were hurting at that position and others. The daddy's of the team didn't want to hear it last year and all season they kept blaming the coaches for everything that went wrong instead of just admitting they didn't have the players they were used to having in the past.

 

There were also posts made during last year that predicted once HHS reaches the second half of their schedule that they would start winning but that wasn't due to the team improving as much as the fact they were playing the soft part of their schedule. But the daddy's in here kept preaching it was because HHS was getting better, fact was they weren't improving as much as they wants to think they were as many started predicting state finals again...it didn't happen

 

So to say it wasn't predicted 2 years ago, it actually was and was predicted by many HHS fans on here. Many of those same HHS fans also told me it would be 3-4 years until they started turning it around again so I have no reason not to believe them. So the next 2 years I won't be surprised if HHS starts showing signs of the HHS of old.

As an aside, I think it would be really cool to have most of our NKY 6A teams get to the point where they all had really strong programs. No reason it can't happen. Lot's of good coaching and support in those schools.

No offense but that sounds like a losing team mentality. That wasn't the motto when Dale was around.

 

If a team shows up, executes the game plan, limits mistakes and still comes up short in the end yes they lost the game but you have to keep in mind that there is a team out there that are going to beat you no matter what you do. Sometimes all you can do is have fun and play hard. Not sure why this is a difficult concept to grasp

I really wish there were only 2 big HS's in the county. But that isn't the case. Could you imagine if just Cooper

never existed, what kind of teams Ryle would have had over the past 9 years? Just this year alone, how fun would it be to watch Morgan and Hendrix on the same team? Wow. That would be fun to watch.

I was thinking about the post where it was mentioned that something like 8000 houses are planned in Boone Co? That's a lot of students. If they allowed those new students to be absorbed into the existing schools that would make them all really big. Of course that's not the best for the students I guess.

I'm not saying the game last night qualifies. Questionable calls, some stupid penalties cost highlands that game. Three drives stalled out inside the 15 because of penalties. Birds should have won by three scores. Learn from it and focus on next week

Penny pinches won't allow schools to be built big enough to house that many students. I guess they think it is cheaper to build 8 different buildings 6 miles apart?
