Is it running the score up when the JV comes in and the second half and was still better than the opposing varsity? .

 

I have ZERO problem with 2nd string/JV teams running the score up on 1st team defense. You don't like it, stop them.

According to Facebook Campbell county people think they won state last night.

 

We're used to it. Went through it with Cooper, SK and Ryle last year. Have to be prepared for it as it's a badge of honor earned by years of success. I'll take that trade off any day.

I do want to compliment Coach Meadows for CC he had his defense ready for Weinrich. Also I think there was another former Birdy in the booth for CC last night.

I'd say the coaches job is secure. Last thing anyone wants to do after a big change is make another this soon.

Yes. Depends on each persons definition of running up the score. We have all had this conversation on here many times. Looking at final scores of games is not always reflective of "running up the score". And every game and every opponent is different. It's easy now to look back and say "see, look! They ran up the scores!" But they have no idea what the situation was in each of those games. Again, perception of "running up the score" has a lot to do with whether someone was actually trying to run up the score.

It just strengthens it. Give Lickert the talent and the player's will to win he will get himself a state championship somewhere. He is one of the next in line and would be safe to say top of the list.

 

So your saying that a school the size of CC couldn't put together a team with enough talent and will to win but one game last year?

And now they beat highlands for the first time in 25 years and people are saying how great a coach he is and how good this CC team is.

Concerning the roughing call, it was the right call according to the rules. I watched the tape. The Highlands kid pushed the punter down for no reason. While it wasn't your typical roughing play, the refs were correct in the call.

 

But it can't be roughing if the punt was blocked and Crosley New #7 for Highlands told a teammate his hand got the ball. It looked like a shank but if tipped should be a live ball.

In my humble opinion, if the game is fun to watch, the players are having fun and they are giving their best then leave it alone. The wins will come, so will a few losses along the way. To me it's simple...did they play hard, did everyone stay safe and have fun? If so it's a win. Remember it is still high school ball.

No offense but that sounds like a losing team mentality. That wasn't the motto when Dale was around.

I'm glad you acknowledged it as being down years, it kind of makes it less impressive beating HHS during these "down years".
