August 24, 201610 yr Rain Man The opening scene where they were at the cemetery was filmed at Evergreen cemetery in Southgate. We had just returned from our Honeymoon to see Dustin Hoffman walk out of his trailer that was parked in the VFW parking lot. Our house was only a couple of blocks away.

August 24, 201610 yr Next of Kin Fire Down Below Coal Miners Daughter All had scenes filmed in Eastern Kentucky I believe. Parts of "Fire Down Below" were shot around Jackson in Breathitt County. A friend of mine worked at Lees Junior College in Jackson at that time and he told me a funny story that happened while the film crew was out searching for locations to film. He said he and some other people from Lees were with the movie folk and they were in several cars. Steven Seagal was in the lead car and when he saw an elderly man on the side of the road selling home made birdhouses he told his driver to stop. Everyone got out of the cars and Seagal was talking to the old man and asking him did he make the birdhouses, and other small talk. Then he bought several birdhouses. One of the people in the group from the college pointed toward Seagal and said to the man, "Do you know who this guy is?" And the old man said, "No, but if you tell me who his daddy is I might know him." :lol2: I don't know about other parts of the state but that's a common response in eastern Kentucky. My daddy said that all the time when he met someone he didn't know.

August 25, 201610 yr "Raintree County" in Danvillle The Shelby Farm was used for some scenes. My Great Grandfather later bought the farm and mansion and had it til the early 70's.
August 25, 201610 yr Suuuurrrre... lol:taz: Tyler Wood and Chico are from Kentucky but I have no idea where so parts of several episodes are filmed in Kentucky. Also Snake man of appalachia was filmed around Letcher County.
August 26, 201610 yr It was primarily, if not completely, filmed in California. I thought parts in the early seasons were in Lex?
