There may not be a better football player in the state let alone 2A. Derrick Barnes of Cov Holy Cross is an animal. 6'2 230lbs 4.5 40yds RB/LB D1 commit (Toledo). You have not seen this kid play then you haven't seen the best players.

 

Holy Cross is loaded this year.

DS Dad, I agree he is good and I have had the advantage of seeing all 3 both on tape and in person. All are excellent.

That seems to be the only thing that would keep him from being one of the best players in the state for the next couple of years. He is the only kid I have seen currently in High School that can change a game from any position on the field. He can throw for a touchdown, return punt or kickoff for a touchdown, intercept a pass for a touchdown, or come out of the backfield or as a receiver for a touchdown. He did all of those things last year as a freshman. He is one of those type of players that every time he touches it, you expect something very good to happen. I believe he will be a very special high school player when all is said and done IF he stays healthy.

NewCath is VERY deep on the outside and at the skill positions. I will be very interested in seeing how they are utilized b/c they have a lot of complimentary pieces. Hopefully the line is up to par. I don't know much about the trenches. Wish Lawrence was back for one more go round.

He's a once in a lifetime player for all the reasons you said. I have friends on staff at Middle Tennessee State and Arkansas State. I sent his highlights to them and both said they appreciate me sending his tape, but they have no shot at the kid and he has P5 written all over him.

Not that it matters but Malik Britt of Murray has graduated from High school. I guess that means a few kids will get to move up in your ranking. I am 100% for sure, I watched him walk across the stage.

Holy cross hasn't beaten Lloyd in last couple years don't see it being any different this year

Its good to see Rex Henderson getting some pub. He is the real deal.

 

While Owensboro Catholic has a lot to replace, they have a phenomenal sophomore class that should be big contributors instantly. QB Will Warren has big shoes to fill, but he really looks the part. Hes got great size and a big time arm. I don't expect much fall off with these Aces.
