formerkywrestler Posted August 8, 2016 Posted August 8, 2016 Girlfriend and I are in a big debate over this. She says it's super boring. I say she is just mad that she'd get dunked constantly. So let's hear it. Water Polo: Boring or Not?
hidinout Posted August 8, 2016 Posted August 8, 2016 Is there a word for beyond boring ? yes there is ..... SOCCER . But its a tie with whatever water polo is .. do the females wear 2 pieces ? Does Sweden have a team ?
00Rocket28 Posted August 8, 2016 Posted August 8, 2016 I like it but could never play it. I have a huge fear of drowning. The first time I got "dunked" by someone, I'm coming up swinging.

As an aside, triathlon mass starts are not entirely different from this in regards to the dunking, kicking, hitting, etc. In triathlon it's almost always accidental however.
MentschTrachtGottLacht Posted August 8, 2016 Posted August 8, 2016 I think it is great, and I have a great appreciation for those folks. By all accounts, it is brutally physical under the water, and those dudes have to be in crazy-good shape.

The last time I was dunked, I was 16, I remember gauging my cousins eyes and busting his nose. He never did it again
littleluck55 Posted August 8, 2016 Posted August 8, 2016 I would say they are some of the best athletes out there. It's ok to watch. Brutal underwater from my understanding.
rjs4470 Posted August 8, 2016 Posted August 8, 2016 Not boring. Although I'd probably not watch it much if it were on all the time. But every 4 years, it's a nice change of pace. Much respect for those guys...it looks like a brutal sport.
PurplePride92 Posted August 8, 2016 Posted August 8, 2016 I'd have played this in high school. BG had a pool but we didn't have a water polo team. Missed out. It looks amazingly fun.
rockmom Posted August 8, 2016 Posted August 8, 2016 Has she looked at some of those guys? It's like diving and swimming and a host of other shirtless sports....I really try to appreciate the athleticism....but in the end I'm just watching for the abs. (That's what plump middle aged women with no life do.)
Randy Parker Posted August 8, 2016 Posted August 8, 2016 I think it is great, and I have a great appreciation for those folks. By all accounts, it is brutally physical under the water, and those dudes have to be in crazy-good shape. Agreed
Hangman Posted August 8, 2016 Posted August 8, 2016 I was watching on my lunch today with great admiration for the athleticism. It's not my cup of tea, but I appreciate it for what it is.

B-Ball-fan Posted August 8, 2016 Posted August 8, 2016 Just watching wears me out and is a reminder of just how out of shape I am. Not being terribly talented in the water, I'd be worn out in a heartbeat. It looks difficult and frustrating. I have a ton of respect for those who do it, but can't watch for very long.
woodsrider Posted August 8, 2016 Posted August 8, 2016 It's entertaining. Not something I plan my day around watching.
