August 8, 201610 yr There is an online petition that so far has over 1,000 people have signed to change the Bengals name from the Cincinnati Bengals to the Cincinnati Harambes. Petition calls to change Bengals' name to 'Cincinnati Harambes' I don't see this going anywhere... Edited August 8, 201610 yr by bugatti
August 8, 201610 yr uh-huh. Paul Brown will not allow this to happen. Not only will he roll over in his grave, but he will come back to kick some behinds. Now, putting aside the joke... what kind of reasoning would equate Paul Brown's impact on Professional football and the impact of the death of a gorilla at the zoo who was shot to prevent him from killing a small child? I'd like to see who all signed the petition so I know who to get a court order against to maintain distance from my family.
August 8, 201610 yr For those that don't know, the whole Harambe thing has evolved into a meme that's more a part of this petition than anything else. It's complete with hashtags, Vine clips, and Instagram posts, like the one in which the new BC and former UK quarterback dedicated his season "to Harambe, one of the realist dudes out there". Like I said, the Internet is a strange place.
August 8, 201610 yr This is very stupid and I know it's probably intended to be a joke, but it's not even funny. Try harder next time.

August 8, 201610 yr My youngest bought a shirt with Harambre RIP on it. He thinks the whole thing is hilarious. Seems that the 20-25 year old males are really into this...or so my Twitter feed tells me.
August 8, 201610 yr Barstoolsports or to be exact the PMT podcast has been pushing this joke all summer.
August 8, 201610 yr Seems that the 20-25 year old males are really into this...or so my Twitter feed tells me. Ban millennials.
August 8, 201610 yr People forget who raised the millennials. Hmm... If there's anything to be learned from this whole situation, it's that everything is the parents' fault.
August 8, 201610 yr I hate that my age range includes me in this generation. I'm right on the line at a 1984 birth date. Too young to be a Gen X-er, too old to really be a millennial. A man without a generation.
