Dollar reading glasses. Of course, there's probably a reason that they coast a dollar.

Real easy solution: prescription sunglasses. I need them and since the lenses alone cost over a hundred bucks, I've had the same pair for eight years. Really forces you to take care of them. :lol2:

I buy expensive sunglasses for that reason. Forces you to keep up with them. Though my running/biking glasses are currently MIA. If they do turn out to be lost it will be the only pair I've lost since I was in my late teens/early 20's.

Mechanical pencils.

This time last year one of the junior Pura Vidas went through 3 different cell phones in 3 weeks. Lost 1 at concert, flushed 2nd down toilet, dropped and broke 3rd. The kid will finally pay off the original this month – 2nd and 3rd were “covered” by insurance (with significant deductibles). Darn kids!

Definitely agree with spending a little more on sunglasses... It forces you to take care of them. I recommend Tommy Bahama or Costa Del Mar. Costa's specially have a lifetime warranty!
