Joey Votto Is A Jerk...And It's Awesome

Featured Replies

Love it Joey, keep it up away AND home. Lots of butthole parents and kids out there that ruin things for others. Have sat behind the dugout a couple of times, I'd be worse than him. Like he said your priviliged to sit down there either because your parents are incredibly wealthy or are given the tickets by knowing someone from a big company that owns all those dugout box seats and you want gloves, balls, etc. too. C'mon.

I'm not a fan of it, and I'm a bit surprised I'm in the minority about that.

He's going out of his way to be a jerk, not a good look.

If he didn't play for the Reds, I have a feeling you wouldn't be in the minority.

I kind of side with the players a bit on this. The way some enterprising adult fans are when trying to get a player's attention for an autograph or other memorabilia they can sell on eBay for tidy profit is a bit disgusting. Especially when they use their kids to do it.

Not all people that sit down low are rich and privileged.

MLB is always looking to gain fans players acted like that doesn't help.

Let's assume you're right: I still can't justify taunting the fans (on multiple occasions).

I know I'm right. You can PM me for details.

Perhaps stand-offish would be a better way than outright taunting, but I can see how it would get to a player and push them to that point. You can only ignore so much.

They are paid a disgusting amount of money. If he doesn't like what goes on in the stands, just ignore it and walk in the dugout.

He's trying to be a jerk. That's a problem, IMO. He's seeking it out.

Gotta admit it makes me laugh. If he is being taunted by those fans, I have no problem with it. If he is doing this without provocation, I don't like it.

I'm with you, especially when it's a kid asking. The kid didn't pay for the ticket Joey. Overrated tool.

Tool? That's a matter of opinion. Overrated? Most certainly not.

Dude all Reds fans have been plotting how to get rid of him for how many years now? You and I included.

I haven't been. He's one of the best pure hitters I've ever seen. He's the best in the game at not making outs. It's a bad contract for the Reds because they have limited funds, but don't confuse that with him not being worth the money.

I think it's hilarious! Seems like he only does it at away games. I got no problem with this.
