July 23, 201610 yr Don't sweat the small stuff.... Cliche, but so true. No use worrying about all the small trivial things in life. Really good advice. Too bad more people don't adhere to this. One of my favorite books is entitled "Don't Sweat the Small Stuff - And It's All Small Stuff" by Richard Carlson. I read it through in it's entirety a couple or three times a year.

July 23, 201610 yr Not sure it qualifies as advice, but my mother was my biggest encourager. She often said "bubby, you can do anything you choose to do in life". I'd give $1000 just to hear her call me bubby one more time.

July 23, 201610 yr Truth there bud. Heck, I'd say just as often as not, the girls today are the aggressor/pursuer. They were back in the day, too. But that could have been just my personal experience.
July 24, 201610 yr A lot of good ones already. I'll throw one out there from the texts of Gambling 101, as taught to me by my family: "Never spend good money chasing after bad (lost) money." I became a lot better at money management at the track and gaming tables once I took that to heart. Local poker game: never lend money to anyone playing against you. Racetrack: don't play the ponies. Casino: winning a little is better than losing a lot. ( Still having a little problem with this one.)
