I love both, Pancakes are consistently better but a really good waffle is better than a really good pancake. So I will choose Waffle, with a little bit of butter and syrup in each little square and cooked to a lightly crisped perfection.

I like maple syrup, but my mom makes amazing preserves, so I've always waited until the butter melted, then slathered the pancake or waffle with preserves. Peach, strawberry, cherry, plum. blackberry, all that. Occasionally mom makes peach syrup.
