July 20, 201610 yr I don't even know what chicken fried steak is, but it sounds awful. I love me some good fried chicken though. FYI...Bob Evans has it on their menu if you ever happen to go there. It has peppered white gravy on it and goes well with mashed potatoes and green beans.

July 21, 201610 yr Turkey gravy, but never chicken gravy. Must be another cultural difference. After cooking the chicken in the cast-iron skillet, momma added the corn starch to the chicken grease and made fantastic gravy for the mashed potatoes.

Listen, I don't hate chicken fried steak on a rare occasion when I just want to eat as badly as possible. But it is no comparison to fried chicken that I get a hankering for every few weeks.
