GrizzlyAdams Posted July 18, 2016 Posted July 18, 2016 .. Who wins the "Super Championship" I got this from reddit today. While I'm not a huge NBA guy, I've been slowly getting into it more and more. It's the off season now and slow on content. So I'll throw it all at you here. 2016: Cavs (57-25) [.695] 2015: Warriors (67-15) [.817] 2014: Spurs (62-20) [.756] 2013: Heat (66-16) [.805] 2012: Heat (46-20) [.697] 2011: Mavs (57-25) [.695] 2010: Lakers (57-25) [.695] 2009: Lakers (65-17) [.793] 2008: Celtics (66-16) [.805] 2007: Spurs (58-24) [.707] 2006: Heat (52-30) [.634] 2005: Spurs (59-23) [.720] 2004: Pistons (54-28) [.659] 2003: Spurs (60-22) [.732] 2002: Lakers (58-24) [.707] 2001: Lakers (56-26) [.683] Seeding done by regular season record
GrizzlyAdams Posted July 18, 2016 Author Posted July 18, 2016 Most popular pick is 2001 Lakers but its a fun discussion.
RaiderPride5 Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 One of the LeBron heat teams would be matching up with the Spurs in the finals I think
Cats3x Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 2001 Lakers. No one could guard Shaq. The only teams that could potentially take the down are the 2014 Spurs, 2012-13 Heat or the 2015 Warriors. Those teams might have shot well enough to have had a chance. But Shaq is the ultimate trump card. That three year run, Shaq was as unstoppable as any player in league history. If he'd played 6 seasons at that level he'd have been in the convo at the top of the list.

It's a travesty he doesn't receive heavier consideration for GOAT. That said, good luck convincing me his 10-year stretch is better than LeBron's 13...
RaiderPride5 Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 Youngster . I'm a LeBron guy I can't help myself! Shaq is the most dominant player ever in the history of the game though. If LeBron had a jumper it would be him Random question: if Shaq doesn't leave for LA, do the Orlando Magic win one of the Bulls final two championships?

Shaq doesn't get consideration because he put half of an effort into his career. Had he remotely cared he would have 5 more titles to his name.
TheDeuce Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 2016 Cavs, 2012-13 Heat get ousted in the First Round because LeBron sucks.

I would love to see that team defense try and guard the 01 Lakers. Ben Wallace going against that Shaq is the only team I think has a shot of guarding him.

As the original LeBron guy, I can get down with that. To answer the question about Shaq and Penny I say probably not. Shaq wasn't quite Shaq yet. Shaq had ten consecutive seasons that compare to the three I assume you're referring to from 99-01. It's a travesty he doesn't receive heavier consideration for GOAT. That said, good luck convincing me his 10-year stretch is better than LeBron's 13... Shaq's peak was as good as anyone's. Outside of LeBron there may not be many other players who could single handedly influence how great their team just by themselves. Shaq in his prime would have made a contender out of most the league.

Shaq never won a rebounding title which is hard to believe.
