Trump can't let Hillary keep the bad press

Featured Replies

Could someone post his comments about Saddam Hussein that were referenced in the initial post?

I don't follow him on Twitter, but looked to see if I could find something, and didn't see anything.

"He was a bad guy -- really bad guy. But you know what? He did well? He killed terrorists. He did that so good. They didn't read them the rights. They didn't talk. They were terrorists. Over. Today, Iraq is Harvard for terrorism," Trump said.

I like the statement, see nothing wrong at all with it.

In the snapshot culture we live in, you can't give praise to world tyrants. Factual or not.

"You got to give it up to that Hitler guy. He made sure building the Autobahn was a top priority for his citizens unlike in America where our infrastructure is going down the tubes."

I can, when it involves killing terrorists.

I'm not really all that taken with him advocating the idea that as long as citizens are accused of terrorism, they shouldn't have rights or trials... just kill them. That's one of those Trump statements that are so troubling about his candidacy.

Statement from Jake Sullivan, Clinton's top foreign policy aide:

“Donald Trump's praise for brutal strongmen seemingly knows no bounds. He has applauded the strength China showed in the Tiananmen Square massacre, offered admiration for Kim Jong Un's murderous consolidation of power in North Korea, and consistently lavished praise on Vladimir Putin. Tonight, Trump yet again lauded Saddam Hussein as a great killer of terrorists, noting with approval that he never bothered to read anyone their rights. In reality, Hussein's regime was a sponsor of terrorism – one that paid families of suicide bombers who attacked Israelis, among other crimes. Trump's cavalier compliments for brutal dictators, and the twisted lessons he seems to have learned from their history, again demonstrate how dangerous he would be as Commander-in-Chief and how unworthy he is of the office he seeks.”

And to pile on, Iraq was much more stable under Hussein (if you can tolerate the occasional attempted genocide or repression) because he provided governance, not because he killed terrorists. Trump's implication is that if Obama would just kill more indiscriminately over there it will all fix itself, which is the sort of Facebook status, feel-good babble that doesn't comport with reality.

Reminds me of the popular statement "why don't we just nuke the whole place?!"

"Turn that desert into a sea of glass …"

Let's see, he makes favorable comments about Vladamir Putin, Kim Jong-Un, and now Saddam Hussein and criticizes John McCain and the Pope. Oh yeah, let's all vote for that !!!

Excellent post.

I'm surprised it didn't generate any "Hillary is worse" replies.

Honestly, I think everyone knows what Hillary is at this point. With Trump, people still like to play along with his comments. With Hillary you know there is a 95% chance she's lying to you.

What the Hillary bashers don't seem to understand is that to defeat her in November, hollering "Hillary lies" over and over and over and over ain't gonna get the job done, especially with an unstable candidate heading up the GOP. Need some fresh stuff to chew on.
