John Reitz was Maze assistant at Casey and the son of HOF Coach Mike Reitz...... Could this initiate the young Reitz?

OUCH. He did this with what alot of people think was superior talent.

By the way, my previous post is a little out of context now. There were several posts about his activities at Casey County, and his AAU program that seem to have been deleted now. I do stand by the fact that I feel he has had a ton of hype with little to show.

He made the region final at Casey co- that is something.

There was no way that Casey co team was going to beat mercer co.

Whoever gets the job has a nice senior class they can build on. I'll take Jacob Smith and Colin Miller any day of the week!

Has anyone had more hype than this guy? Did Casey County scare anyone during his tenure? And his AAU program made a habit of losing games on a running clock this year.

They gave a far superior Lincoln County team all they wanted on their home floor in the first round of the region in 2015 and then made a run to the region final in 2016 before bowing to Mercer County, a top five team in the state. It's been since the mid-70s and early-90s since Casey County saw any similar success.

Maze did a ton of good at Casey County and I have spoken with quite a few 12th Region coaches who all had a ton of respect for Maze, his coaching abilities and what he did at Casey County. Everyone in this area knows it isn't easy to win at Casey County and forget about the records. Look at his postseason success at Casey. That's all that matters. He did a damn good job at Casey County.

How many transfers did he get into Casey County?

Maze was good for Casey, and Casey was good for Maze. He inherited some of our better players to come through here in a long time, and they played hard for him when it mattered most.

Who wee Coach Stallworths assistants? I was thinking John Reitz worked as an assistant. If so that's Mike Reitz son who is in the HOF. Good bloodline of coaching

I think 3 in all. DJ White, Wyatt Sloan and Max Reyes. I think that is it.

I believe former head coach Phil Williams was also an assistant.

Don't Maze have a losing record as a head coach? Might be a good thing he's out at Casey.

It's not how you start but how you finish. I may be wrong but I believe he took them to the region tournament every year he was there including the region finals this season. At Casey County that is saying something. Records don't matter. Region tournament appearances do.
