ColonelCrazy
Didnt Pete play till age 45? Any MLBers going to do that now a days? Pete was 22 during his rookie season & played in 157 games. He played in 136 his 2nd season, then played in 148+ (including many seasons where he appeared in all 162 games) until he was 40 years old. Pete's longevity might be more difficult to replicate than his season average of 194 hits per year. For what it's worth, Altuve is averaging 204 hits per season. He hit 225 a couple seasons ago. Pete's highest is 230 in 1973 (age 32).
