June 14, 201610 yr Author After the conversation was relayed to me by my girlfriend, my first reaction was "yep, not going to be doing that anymore". That's easy to say I know, but when the yard starts looking like an overgrown pasture, and you KNOW she isn't going to mow it/get it mowed or seems to make no effort to do it, you almost feel responsibility to yourself to mow it for no other reason that to not make your house/area look like garbage. As for her "I'm busy" comment...and believe you me she isn't half as busy as I am...supposedly a big reason she is so busy is because of her daughters. But yes, they are there long enough for them to mow the grass if they had/was provided a mower. However I don't think I would want that possible responsibility, if I offered my mower I would require her to use it and not her daughters. But then again she has already stated she couldn't do it anyway if offered the mower because she's so busy. That comment I believe bit me more than the expectation she had that I would be mowing it for her from now on.

When my girlfriend asked had she gotten another job/had one already lined up, she said no, she would start applying soon and hopefully get back on at her previous job. What the...:idunno: Hey, if you have a stash of cash saved up and can live off of that for a while, I guess you can do that. That definitely is NOT the situation here though, and my girlfriend asked me "who the heck does that"?

June 14, 201610 yr I'm assuming she is renting? You should be able to fairly easily find out who the landlord is. I would stop mowing. Wait 2 weeks or so, and contact the landlord. Most states he/she would have to pay for the mowing if the city has to do it. Let him put pressure on her to get it done.

June 14, 201610 yr She is teaching her daughters something all right....how to manipulate a man into doing her bidding. My guess is that she is good at it. If she was a single dad, you might have cut it for the first time for the same reasons, but would you have continued to do it? You sound like a nice guy, obviously being taken advantage of. She has time to cut her own grass. She just doesn't want to.
