I don't know how else to explain it. I've clearly said several times that Cal probably knew about both of his incidents.

 

My take is he didn't incriminate himself with his comments. He states that if it happens on your campus or your assistants were involved, you probably knew. His incidents didn't happen on campus and his assistants weren't involved. Does that make him any less guilty? No. Does that make him anymore guilty? No.

 

It just means, that in his mind, if it happens on your campus and/or your assistants are involved, you probably knew about it.

 

Blue glasses and blockers have nothing to do with it. I'm not defending Cal and saying he's innocent. He just didn't incriminate himself because the points he made, were not a part of the UMass or Memphis incidents. You could make other arguments, but his two points had nothing to do with those situations, so he didn't incriminate himself by saying them.

While this is a shot at Pitino or whatever coach, I think people are missing the message all together at who he is aiming his ire towards. I look at it as a shot against the media and NCAA. Cal was convicted by win vacations and in the court of public opinion, whether Cal knew about it or not is irrelevant. Punishment was handed down upon the programs he was overseeing. Now you have more recent incidents in which the coaches are claiming ignorance - truthful or not - and getting somewhat of a pass that he did not get. I have banged the drum forever in that high power college basketball coaches are as protected of a group as you will find. He doesn't get that same protection, but I don't think he wants it because it is part of his "oh, woe is me" shtick.

I think that's exactly what he did. No blue blockers here. He worded it so that he could omit himself. Which is why I was confused when people said he was incriminating himself lol

It is pretty well known this is what Cal does. No mystery there. Personally I find him fascinating to listen to, as whacky as he is at times. I have an admiration for those that look outside the box.

I've said forever that not only are they all cheating at the high D-1 level, but they all know they're cheating. Head coaches may not know all the specifics, but they know there are illegal activities taking place. You'll never be able to convince me otherwise.

 

Cal knew (and likely orchestrated) Rose's fraudulent test & Pitino certainly knew about the recent stuff at UL. You can't claim to know everything that goes on in your program, as Rick has claimed since he was at UK, and then claim not to know when it goes south.
