June 15, 201610 yr Is it really that unreasonable to think that a coach knows (or should know) what is going on among his players while they are on campus? Likewise, are we expecting coaches to know what is going on among their players while they are away from campus? I absolutely think that coaches know, or should be expected to know, what their players are into while they are on campus. Once they go off campus and return home to their personal lives, however, there is clearly less control and less monitoring involved. If what I'm saying is nothing new, thats fine, I'm just not really sure how or why you all are saying that Cal is indicting himself by saying what he did.

A town that known Cal supporter World Wide Wes just happens to have a major presence in? All just a coincidence, I'm sure. Nothing to see there at all... I never said there wasn't anything to see. I was just dissecting his comments and how I thought they made some sense. He said if it happened on campus or an assistant was involved, then a coach probably knows it went down. Doesn't make him innocent. But you have proven my point, he gets ran through the coals than for less than. At least in my opinion, providing strippers for college athletes or a university providing fake classes for their college athletes is a much larger offense than Derrick Rose's story.

Culture vs. one incident. There could very well be other players that got the Rose treatment with fake ACT scores, but we only know of one.

Only one coach will lose wins and a banner, but they are on the same type of list.
