We don't make enough hay out of just how helpful it is to have a center back pairing that play together professionally for a top level team. Italy's are the two starting central defenders for Juventus. Germany/Italy in the quarterfinals Saturday will be must-see TV.

What was Hodgson thinking? Why wait until the 86th minute to bring Rashford on when you've needed a goal for SEVENTY minutes? Why not bring him on in the 70th and let him try to charge everyone up? Also, Joe Hart just isn't that great. Why is he still the England keeper? After allowing Dempsey's little drifter past him in 2010 he never should have started for England again.
