Conner takes 2 from Dixie.

Borman gets the start and W in game 1. Sprague does the same in Game 2.

Cougars move to 21-8.

Maxwell " Colonel Killer " Sims strikes again. I think this young man is batting about .700 against Dixie Heights! :lol2:

Congrats on the wins Cougars...you all have our number this season!!!

...and hats off to both coaching staffs in game 2 to clear the benches ensuring everyone saw playing time! :thumb:

The point above is but one really good example of why you can't look at scores in baseball like you can in other sports and make proclamations. I had a game this week where the coach told me ahead of time he was pitching a lot of guys because of recent inactivity. You have games like you mention above where a lot of reserves are getting action (smartly). You have a game where a team brings up a frosh pitcher to throw his first V game. So many variables which is why 9th region tourney results never really shock me.

Well said Clyde and I couldn't agree more. That's why I don't dare mention a favorite pick to win the 9th. Any number of teams can exceed expectations or flop with the right combination of timely pitching, defense, and hitting.
