They really are. Before Griffey's body broke down, he was statistically superior offensively to Bonds. Its not his fault Bonds took steroids. Had Bond not have went on his 'roids binge, we wouldn't even be having this conversation.

I'm saying his body was finished. Can't evaluate him after that fairly. All players do, except juicers I guess. Should we remember that Tim Duncan currently doesn't score in playoff games, or him in his prime?

 

In their primes, Jr. was the better player IMO. Eye ball test and stats tell me that. I'm not counting the years we know Bonds was roided up or the years in which Griffey could no longer move.

I think what many ignore is that while Bonds went up in HRs later in his career, where he spiked most was with his batting percentage. That more than anything went through the roof (sans his 73 HR season). The Aaron HR record fell because he hung around until he broke it. He may have still been in the 500-550 area of HRs otherwise.
