With all that's gone on out there the past 4 or so years, them being on probation the past 2 years...is this really a surprise to anyone? Now, maybe the mechanism/reason behind the decision might be odd and not necessarily due to the probation/troubles Cordia has encountered in recent past. Or could be a cumulative effect type situation where this last "confrontation" over pay was the straw that broke the camels back so to speak. Who knows.

 

What will really be interesting is to see who goes after this job and will all the players/talent who are there now be there come October.

I agree with your thinking. I mean, after what's gone on there and he wasn't fired why all the sudden get wound up over him not getting a PO when buying something. Not getting PO's is not enough to get the school on probation like the earlier issues that Cordia had to face.

But I suppose it's not only the purchase order dispute as much as a combination of that in addition to earlier problems. Has to be something like that.

It's just weird. Seems like he would have cost the school more money with the probation, lack of playoffs, losing regular season games, etc than he did with the PO.

I think the walking into the principle office and calling him everything but a principle is probably what done him in.

Good question. I agree. May have been the case Rhodes was on "probation" himself and this last incident pushed it over the cliff. I'm sure there are two very different stories out there between the two parties... What you the truth is we may never know.

I know one thing...if I go to my boss right now and cuss him all to pieces, I fully expect to be watching Days of Our Lives at home in 20 minutes.

Quite possible Rhodes was on "Double Secret Probation" and didn't realize it?

Rodrick Rhodes says several area coaches have been texting Cordia players & asking them to transfer since Rhodes' contract won't be renewed.

Some of the talk has been maybe former head coach Jeff Honeycutt possibly could be Cordia's next coach. He's a very good coach that has had some success at Cordia in the past. He coached at Knott Central for a while before returning to Cordia. His team defeated KCC one year to make it to the region.

If the players hang around (I don't think they will, though) he has the coaching abilities to take that kind of talent and make a deep run in the state tournament in March.

Are you kidding? Do you know how many times he has been T'd up and ejected from games? Heck he was ejected and caused a scene by not leaving the gym the last game of this past year! I sure he would have started this coming year with some sort of suspension!
