Trinity vs. Lexington Catholic Scrimmage...

Featured Replies

Both teams looked pretty good on offense. Lex Cath had two touchdowns called back on a kickoff return and I believe a long pass. Rocks gave up some yards through the air but looked pretty good against the run.

Both team have open weeks this week.

My observations: First Trinity has some speed with the running back #5 he scored the first touchdown of the night, a 3 play drive and he had 2 carries for 80 yards in that drive!

Nick P was throwing the ball high at times tonight, he had 1 nice run, but he will be OK this season like he was last season.

Trinity commited many penalties

Trinity's Defense looked good overall. Lex Cath. had some big running plays and took advantage of space when they had it.

Lex Cath. Has some speed of their own, I forgot the numbers but look out if they get a gap to run in.

Lex Cath. #45 a very hard hitter will run you over, and is always going till the play is over.

Trinity's Punter/Kicker is a big boy, and the best I've seen in who knows. All his punts were 50-60 yards with height higher than I've seen in college. Made all his PATS and his kickoffs were higher than the lights at the stadium! all were touchbacks except the one after Trinity was offside,

he hit that short into the endzone but the ref did not call a touchback, lex cath returned it but it was called back for block in the back, still a nice return by Lex. Cath. A very nice return by Lex cath. I did not see the block in the back.

Lex Cath. has a lot of depth just as much as Trinity, they should be contenders again for the championship. I wish these two teams play eachother again, but I guess that won't happen.

That is all for now.

I will report what I see at the St.X game, Go X!!!!

I don't know if it's the same kid that I saw but during halftime of our playoff game against T, their P and K practiced during the half and they were phenomenal. The K kept drilling 50 yarders with ease and the punter kept booting it 50+ yards every time. It seemed like he wore a very high number and he was a big boy.

#71 Ryan Tydlacka younger brother of Louisville punter/kicker Wade Tydlacka. the young man has a for sure D1 leg. Look for him on saturdays and even sundays in the future. Bright future and has a very good work ethic.

Went to the scrimmage; saw they were charging for admission:irked: ; went to see a movie instead.

We really missed you. Good luck tonight.

C'mon now, what movie would be a better use of three dollars, let alone $7.50? There quite a few X-fans, players and students attending. You missed a good time and opportunity to see two future opponents.

Penny pincher and movie passes! :D

Seriously I was really looking forward to checking out the former St. Martha players, but when I noticed people were paying to get in I said to my self, "You've got to be kidding me. I'm not giving money to this school." ;) I've never been to a scrimmage where you've had to pay for admission. If you think about it, all a scrimmage is a glorified practice. Maybe the Rockheads thought that since everyone else has to pay to see a game tonight they would follow suit. OR maybe that stadium went a little over budget. :p

All in all I was pretty disappointed; although my ole ladie had a gleeming smile on her face as we walked away since she said earlier, "You know they are going to charge for admission."

Maybe I should listen to her more often.

The Rocks have scrimmaged LexCath and Scott County at their fields for years and they have always charged admission. I guess I won't see you at either the freshman or JV game versus the Rocks this year as well since that would be "giving money to this school". :D

How did Wes Caldwell look?

How did Wes Caldwell look?

He looked good as did a number of Knights. He seemed like he got dinged up a little. He was limping pretty good ay one point.
