Isn't Fowler a better hitter from the left handed side?

Never mind. I was looking at the splits wrong.

Isn't Fowler a better hitter from the left handed side?

No, he's much better vs left handed pitching.

If a position player can't hit better than a pitcher find one that can hit better than his weight for $570,000 dollars a year.

I guarantee you he hitsaid better than the pitchers. However if he is not going to be your leadoff hitter, then might as well bat him ninth. Look around the natonal league and I doubt you find to many 8 hitters who drive in a lot of runs. Because if they were good at driving in runs then they wouldn't bat 8th. Batting him 8th brings very little to the team and ignores his skill set. He is not an rbi guy so you don't bat him 8th just because. Batting a pitcher 8th is not going to cost you anymore runs than batting someone else 8th. However batting him 9th gives you basically two lead off hitters in your lineup. Just because traditional baseball had pitchers batting ninth doesn't mean it's always the best thing.

That's so Cingrani.

Who gets the 8th? Jumbo?

Is Rizzo due up? Cingrani will stay in to face him, I'm sure.

Truly unbelievable. I can't even begin to understand how stupid that is.

Not defending him, but does it say anything about how he feels about his bullpen?

Only thing that could possibly explain it to me.

Agreed. Gotta have something off speed to throw out of zone there.

No. He knows he has to go to the pen. No way Finnegan is finishing the game. You have to have somebody ready there.

I know the bullpen stinks, but you still have to have someone ready. No excuse. There was zero chance he was finishing this game.

Get one more out with Finnegan or get one out at all with the middle of that pen. Price made the right call, just didn't get the out from his starter that he knew his middle guys would blow...

That is what I was getting at. Didnt mean, he was finishing the game but maybe he was trying to get onw more from Finnegan.
