Agreed. And I'm not talking about him specifically. In a lot of cases your film is only as good as your surrounding cast. It's easier to compare people when you're all going against the same talent.

Since Nike has the majority of the Power 5 schools, it is only natural that the numbers would sway towards Nike. However, you seem to be hinting at a conspiracy theory which is absolutely absurd. There have been plenty of QB's join the fraternity that did not attend Nike schools.

went looking for the Temple kid you mentioned last year. You will have to help me as I could not find him in the group picture. Just a coincidence that the kid from St.X finished behind Tanner at Columbus, committed to Penn State a Nike school, is going. It really does not make any difference since they are all quality kids and hopefully will all do well in college. I live in "real ville" and tend to see things in a different light than some others. Maybe due to 40+ years in education and coaching on both sides of the river. Just saying.

I had the good fortune to meet Tanner tonight. Very pleasant young man. Had a real comfort level with adults that you don't always see. Easy kid to root for.

 

Only negative was he wouldn't agree to take it easy on my Cougars should they meet again.

The type of leader and young man Tanner is = goes to an away frosh game on a week night to work with the QB. Kudos to him.

Reminds me of our conversation in the stands at CovCath at Ryle in August -- watching him work the sideline, you could tell how he was wired and what his teammates thought of him. Love hearing we read it correctly.

I assumed he had a bro on the frosh team. Nope. There watching frosh QB that he works with.

He has both the Tangibles and Intangibles. Quality kid and Quality family.

Just this old set of neutral football eyes observation. Saw Tanner play twice (Campbell & Simon Kenton), my first observation was that he obviously had the physical tools. Secondly, he is a smart kid that studies film, reads his progressions and makes good decisions. Thirdly, he is a competitor that fully understands the game. Most impressive play I have seen this year was his 4th qtr scramble pass for an 80+ yard td in 4th that sealed the deal against SK. The spectaular nature of the play was the instantaneous mental decision on the full run after tucking the ball. Physically it was impressive; mentally it was off the charts. Tanner Morgan is the best QB in NKy by a substantial distance. WMich got a winner!

Tanner is now going to be a Gopher. Coach Fleck accepted the Minnesota job and it looks like one of his first calls was to Tanner who accepted the offer.
