NFL Draft Thread

Featured Replies

There are two schools of thought on this.

Stockpiling picks will eventually build a good team.

Stockpiling draft picks is less effective than having an elite quarterback. Somebody on one of the pre-draft shows listed the ten teams that have had the most draft picks over the past several (ten?) years. All of them have stunk and continue to stink. None of them have had a good quarterback.

Most of them have drafted the High level QB, just never panned out, mostly because the rest of the team sucked as well.

Second pick in the draft, QB from North Dakota State.

Oh... They're FCS. I was confused for a second.

I'll take the WAY over. I'll be shocked if he goes in the 1st. There are minimally three edge guys I'd take in front of him, and more when you factor in some of his garbage.

Nice job, Mel.

Same difference...:D

Dallas used to always stock pile and it got them several Super Bowls.

There are a lot of first round talents left, somebody could crush it today.

You mean more Ohio State guys, right?:lol2:

A few more should go tonight but they are running out of guys. Regardless of OSU guys there's a ton of talent left.

I still remember watching him in the Army All American game, he has so much talent and keep in mind he's from Jersey. You could have a 10 mill per year corner in 4 years, if he develops like he's projected too.

That's what I've been reading. A littler raw, but very high upside.

One comparison I saw was Patrick Peterson.

Some will call it a reach but I've seen some reports claiming several teams were considering him in the mid teens. If the Giants wanted him he wasnt going to last until their next pick.

I wanted Jack but I admit I know little about his knee. I've heard the Giants took him if their board completely. I knew they weren't going to pick Tunsil after what came out about him.

Once Floyd went 9th, I had no clue who they'd pick.

Wonder if anyone takes a chance on Jack.

Jville kinda pick. Giants might go WR, Ravens might take Noah Spence which would be a Bengal killer.

Cleveland starts the night with 4 picks: 32, 65, 76, 77. We'll see if they sit tight or trade with one of the teams that wants pick #32.

Does Hue want a RB in the mold of Jeremy Hill? -- then Derrick Henry from Alabama could be on the radar. I've not read anyone who predicts that, though. 32 is probably too high for Henry to go.

Connor Cook is a name that is mentioned for the Browns, but there are others who think they will go later to get a developmental qb. One they won't worry about offending if they choose a QB next year with one of their two 1st round picks

:thumb: Stock piling picks isn't so bad when THE guy was not available in this draft.

They also need to go defense today and O-line. So many needs, so few picks. Miles Jack's knee scares me. But a team with many picks may take a risk on a player like that. I would think analytics does not smile on a roll of the dice like that.

Hoping Spence is still around for the Bengals this pick. They need another guy to put some pressure on the opposing QB.

Saw an article today where Todd McShay ranked Dallas' pick of Zeke Elliot as the #1 good pick on the first day of the draft. Wish I could find it again to post his reasons. Basically he said that Elliot will take pressure off Romo, provide a 3-down play-maker, blocker, and productive, TD-scoring RB.
