April 4, 201610 yr That wasn't the question. You said you didn't equate a drunk driver killing a fetus to murder/manslaughter. I was was pointing out you are incorrect according to KY law.
April 4, 201610 yr I disagree, and I didn't even mention the condescending way that several of the posts referred to "the word of the woman" as whether that would be sufficient proof or not. We disagree, I think my post accurately discussed the series of posts it referred too. edit: Post 51 is not devil's advocate, nor asking questions. You are welcome to disagree. I know plantmanky. He is bringing up points to consider. I, too, can't wrap my head around that if abortion were illegal, why anyone that played a part in an abortion, including the mother, would be exempt from consequences.

I also do not get why one would say a person would be allowed to in case of a rape. It goes completely against the "it's a person" argument put forth.
April 4, 201610 yr Same page. I also do not get why one would say a person would be allowed to in case of a rape. It goes completely against the "it's a person" argument put forth. Agreed. That makes no sense, either, though I've had person after person argue with me that no one should have to give birth to their rapist's child. But, that child is as much life as any other, right?

But, that child is as much life as any other, right? I agree the argument does not make sense. It is either all or none. The argument against abortion is to say it is murder. It can't be murder for all cases except rape. If you believe the fetus is life that deserves protection then the method of conception shouldn't matter.
April 4, 201610 yr I understand that but my comment was in response to me being asked if I equated them. I do not. So you disagree with the fetal homicide laws in KY and most other states?
April 5, 201610 yr So you disagree with the fetal homicide laws in KY and most other states? I disagree with the inconsistency. I'd be curious to know the case history for those that have challenged such a law.
April 5, 201610 yr Against abortion morally. Do NOT think it should be illegal b/c I am not comfortable putting a mother in jail. I do NOT equate it to murder. If she has an abortion is she a mother?

If you believe the fetus is life that deserves protection then the method of conception shouldn't matter. So if someone else besides the mother kills the fetus (say a deranged lunatic stabs the fetus and the woman survives but the fetus does not), then I guess you don't think they committed murder then since the fetus deserves no rights?
April 5, 201610 yr So if someone else besides the mother kills the fetus (say a deranged lunatic stabs the fetus and the woman survives but the fetus does not), then I guess you don't think they committed murder then since the fetus deserves no rights?no clue how you got that from my post.
April 5, 201610 yr So if someone else besides the mother kills the fetus (say a deranged lunatic stabs the fetus and the woman survives but the fetus does not)' date=' then I guess you don't think they committed murder then since the fetus deserves no rights?[/quote'] From the outside looking in, it would appear that the pro choice people feel that the mother is the only one who can end the fetus' life and not be questioned.
April 5, 201610 yr 74 posts and the subject is null and void because abortion will never again be illegal in the United States. Life begins at conception, Period. The heart has started beating at 18 days and brain development at 25 days. Abortion stops a beating heart, this is not just a bumper sticker. These are numbers from medical journals.I am and always have been anti-abortion. The main dilemma is for those of you who could, would or have been party to abortions legally with Roe vs. Wade and illegal before. If there is such a thing as judgment day, and I believe there is, then it will be up to you.
