No, apparently a life is not a life if we go by your posts. In this post, and the ones that follow it, you go out of your way to make excuses for rapist men and deadbeat dads. At the same time, you show zero compassion for any woman, including those who have been raped, who may wish to have an abortion.

 

You literally, and I mean literally, have said in these posts that a woman who is raped and has an abortion should be put to death. And in the same series of posts, you have played defense attorney for the rapist.

 

So no, in your worldview a life is not a life. In your very clear words, there are men, who have some value, and then there are women, whose only apparent value is to make babies, wanted or not.

 

The most disturbing part of this worldview, besides its absolute misogyny, and the fact that others share it, is the fact that you think you are on some moral high ground. If you want to value life, you should start by re-thinking how you hold half the population of the world in complete disregard.

I agree with everything you said here.

 

If abortion became illegal, however, Trump argued(initially at least) that there should be some punishment and maybe jail time for the woman. Seems as though a number of our BGP friends agree with Mr Trump that if a crime is committed, there must be some punishment doled out.

I think that you are reading more into his posts than is there. He is playing devil's advocate and asking questions, not making a conclusion.

You ask a different question, bolded above. I will simply note that your question says absolutely nothing about punishing any man under this scenario. Why is that? Why come up with some hypothetical where abortion is a crime but only for the woman. Now, you may respond by saying "oh yeah, punish the men too" but that wasn't your thought at all, assuming you even make it.

 

And for many women, who kinda sorta think they are entitled to rights, including rights to make decisions about their own bodies, the omission is an important one. You want to make this hypothetical situation and then ask for "rational argument." But why should anyone accept the challenge of a "rational argument" when the steps to get there are not rational, or fair?

 

Why not be rational about abortion to begin with? Why not discuss the stages of fetal development? Why not discuss health issues with regard to pregnancies? Why not discuss birth control methods that prevent conception and not lump them in as abortion such as was done in the hobby lobby case? Why not be rational about any of that?

This post is just another reminder of why I post less and less in this forum but because I seem to be off my rocker today I will respond.

If that were the case then what is the rational argument that ANYONE that played a part in the abortion should not be charged with some sort of crime? Be it the mother, doctor, and the father if he helped pay or setup the abortion.
