Earlier this season, Prairie View A&M women's basketball coach Dawn Brown suspended two players on her team because they were dating.

This week, the university announced Brown would not return next season.

Brown told USA Today Sports the university told her she was fired because she violated Title IX by discriminating against the players, even though Brown says the school's own Title IX administrator approved the players' suspension.

That certainly makes this story a little more interesting. I'd be curious if the Coach sought approval before the suspension or after.

Not because its gay or straight, but this would seem similar to a company having a policy of no dating among co-workers. Of course, per the NCAA, the players aren't employees so that type of policy might not fly.

I wasn't aware that Title IX had anything to do with protecting personal relationships?! :idunno:

Lawsuit coming.

That title 9 administrator is building the resume to work in the NCAA compliance area.

Not just building the resume to work there... I think they are shooting for the top spot.

Unless they are allowing two dudes on the men's team to date I also do not see how this is related to Title IX.

Players aren't supposed to live with coaches either, BTW.
