March 19, 201610 yr That's nice but his administration's policy is a factor in why KY's coal industry is declining. And by changing over to cheap natural gas, how long do you think it will remain "cheap"?
March 19, 201610 yr Coal in Eastern KY has been in steep decline for 30 years. Coal elsewhere is cheaper, not to mention natural gas. My problem is this is long overdue, and that lands at the feet of Obama, Mitch, Rogers. While all three have been playing politics, an extremely poor region of our nation has been struggling.
March 19, 201610 yr ^ due to the policies of those believing in this farce called global warming in my opinion. But folks can believe what they want and blame who they want for political reasons, this extremely poor region is about to be eliminated by the farce. Edited March 19, 201610 yr by OlDog75

Once Florida and Louisiana goes under the sea this region will be revitalized :thumb: Come on ol dog, it's not really a question of a farce anymore. It's what we have to do. But that is beside the point EKy coal is too hard to get out compared to other coal regions. He's trying to shaft Hillary :lol2: #nolovebetweenthem He is stealing her thunder. She just said this last week, got blasted for it, and no Obama releases it. :lol2:
March 19, 201610 yr Sorry Hellcats, that's my opinion and there are scientists who debunk the theory as well. We'll agree to disagree on it.

March 19, 201610 yr Obama aides announce $65.8M in grants for coal areas | Lexington Herald-Leader This is what liberals do, destroy your way of life, saying it is what is good for you. Then, they buy you off with taxpayers' money. Lose taxpaying jobs and then spend others' taxes to those who lost their jobs.
March 19, 201610 yr Sorry Hellcats, that's my opinion and there are scientists who debunk the theory as well. We'll agree to disagree on it. It's not all about "Global Warming". The coal industry has been declining since well before global warming became an issue. Increased automation and other methods which are less labor intensive has led to the loss of many jobs since the early 80's. And with many of the thick, easy to mine seams disappearing, Kentucky is literally running out of coal. Throw in aging coal power plants that are nearing retirement being replaced with cheaper, more efficient gas plants (that do pollute less), and it's clear that there is more to it than the global warming activists that are hurting this industry.
March 19, 201610 yr Descriptive of many: Not fair brother. I listen to and read all this stuff and I form my own opinion. Am I not permitted to do that? Only folks that agree with the "warming" theory allowed to have the correct opinion?
March 19, 201610 yr How did you take this selfie? I guess he was thinking out of the box to take that. Something many conservatives cannot (no will not) do.
