March 10, 201610 yr Brady re-did his deal with the Pats. Changed his 2016 salary from $9M to $1M. This will save him save him about $1.6M in fines if he has to serve all four of his games starting next season. Tom Brady's new contract protects him from Deflategate suspension - CBSSports.com
March 10, 201610 yr For a player that really could demand absolute top dollar and get it, this is a steal for the Pats. Tells me he is focused on getting the Manning and Farve name erased from the top line on all the big QB records in the book!!
March 10, 201610 yr Did Roger approve this? lol. Just another way to stick it to the commissioner. Good for the Pats.

March 11, 201610 yr This is hilarious. Now watch Roger try to base any fine off of the 2015 salary instead.
March 11, 201610 yr He is probably the most underpaid player in sports right now. For the next three years, he will make $7MM less than Osweiler. Say that out loud and see if it makes sense. Osweiler has one exactly one more game as a starting QB than Brady has won Super Bowls.
March 11, 201610 yr This is a good example of what happens when you raise "taxes" on the rich. They do something else with their money to avoid paying it. Brady just gave us a good lesson in economics. Sorry, I got a bit off topic.
March 11, 201610 yr He's a kept man, he can afford it. Between he and his wife the have a net worth of $500,000,000. They are doing fine. He could get more, but he is essentially restructuring on an annual basis, cashing in on guaranteed dollars. Some of the other QBs may be signing for more, but it is for longer terms. He is not exactly running a charity like some make it out to be. I have never felt the Pats have given back to the same level he has given to them.
