Someone who shoots a bunch of threes and makes a bunch. One of Mercers players is MAKING 1.4 per game and shooting 44% on it. No one else on either team is close to him.

Look again. Faulkner has made 56; James 102. That averages out to 1.65 & 3, respectively. There's not a better shooter in the state than James, and Faulkner is shooting 40% on 156 attempts. That's pretty darn good.

All right. Here's my new scouting report based on your criteria. Mercer has two 3 point shooters and Dunbar has 1.

If I'm doing my math right, that doubles the threat for Mercer LOL.

Dunbar has two players that have made at least one three-pointer per game. Those two shoot at a clip of 31% and 34%, respectively.

Can you maybe do your own analysis of the game? Mercer went from having a plus 1 advantage on 3 point shooters to having a plus 1 advantage on 3 point shooters.

I'm a Bowling Green fan I don't care. I was doing some digging on KHSAA for facts instead of relying on homers.

I didn't do an analysis at all. You stated Mercer had only one good 3 point shooter. I knew better and asked your definition of a good 3 point shooter. You gave it and I cited the correct number. The stat you provided was wrong and I pointed that out. Geez, don't be so sensitive.

If correcting a misquoted stat is analysis, I think I may have a future as a basketball analysit.

Nice exchange, I'm siding with the "homer" on this one!

This thread is everything I hoped it would be. And we're 5 days away!!!!!!!

Man I am so sick of hearing the Lex people talk about Mercer's schedule...everybody has their opinion and I respect that but Hager Faulkner James and Dow can play for ANYBODY in this state...period. So I guess we will see on Weds nite....Go Titans!!

Don't mistake certain people that root for certain Lexington teams to represent Dunbar or Lexington as a whole...

Nah, I (and I think we) respect your opinion and approach. Always have. You support your team and make intelligent posts. You demonstrate respect where respect is due.

There's a right and wrong way to do things. Unfortunately, many others take the wrong approach.

Completely agree. At the end of the day both teams earned the right to get to this point regardless of who they played or didn't play. You can only play the schedule you have. I think we forget it's about the student athletes. I assure you Dunbar players respect Mercer County and I'm sure the feeling is mutual from Mercer. Let the kids play the game. It's a shame this matchup has to happen when it does but that's just how it goes. Best of luck next week to both teams. I'm looking forward to the game!

Thank you mooremiller ...totally respect that .... I'm sure u know who that was dIrected at...I enjoy ur posts

I was already on the fence about making the trip up for the games on Wednesday but I think this thread has sealed the deal. This game is a must see.

Has the makings of a dandy.

Mercer can play a multitude of ways.(fast, slow, ect ect)

If Mercer can keep the score low, I like their chances in a one or two possession game.

If I'm Dunbar , I want as many run out, fast break buckets as I can get.

Mercer will have to play multiple junk defences to keep the two Dunbar scorers in front of them.

Mercer County wants to get up and down the court and run as well. I think a fast paced game suits them better. Not saying it gives them an advantage over Dunbar. Just saying they play better in fast paced games. Teams in the 12th tried to slow them down to beat them. It's hard to slow them down.
