Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe the last time Mayfield played danville, the Cardinals won. In answering Bac2369 I said never, and although that may not be entirely true, it is rare for Mayfield not to be stout on defense, even in the games that Danville beat us, it usually was not because of our defense.

MF also lost to the Ads in 2003 and 04 or something like that. I am pretty sure after beating them in 02 we lost 3 times to them though the exact years might be off by a year or 2

Any timeclock that will be working a Mayfield game should do some extra conditioning this summer... gonna be lots of running for clocks to do next fall.

Stadium, should be ready. As far as the Colts go, They are working hard in the weight room. This will again be a big team. I again think the winner comes from the west. CAL will be tough, no doubt. We are looking at having another strong defensive team again. I think we'll be ok this year. We'll win more than we lose. lol

I think Owensboro Catholic can make a good run against Mayfield. If both teams meet in the Region it will be in Owensboro. Regardless, at Mayfield or in Owensboro it's still a tough game for OC. I just wouldn't count them out.

And to be fair, after having spent 5 years in Owensboro and sharing a field with Catholic and getting to know Mr. Edge, I've got a lot of respect and I pull for Catholic to win every year.

I think the talking point is more of "Can anyone compete with Mayfield". We heard a lot of talk last year, but everyone fell short on the follow though.

This is not as fun as last year where some fans didn't take us seriously. I still chuckle thinking back at a few comments last year "like this isn't 1A". I doubt I will get to enjoy much if any of that this year. Reminds me a lot of the fun we had in the first several meetings with Beechwood and many of the Northern Kentuckians.

This. Soooooooooo much talk before the season even. Had to set a record. My favorite were the dozens of posts about how "nasty" the Desales' defense was. Just loved describing the defense as "nasty." Wanna review lol? The defense is nasty. This isn't 1A anymore. Maybe we have too many players going both ways. We might get an injury. They have played teams better than us. Western Kentucky is not the same as Jefferson county. And so on. Every thread a gazillion pages long. And then what happened? Well, apparently not only did we beat them, but we knocked their internet out as well, because there was precious little crow-eating. I agree, it was so much fun.

I said last year Mayfield was a favorite as well because they were defending but was told the same thing as Mayfield fans were.
