Augusta 72 Scott 71 (10th Region Quarterfinals)

Featured Replies

Hold on, hold on. Are you telling me, that this team often compared to Hickory HS and Hoosiers, has Coach Dale (Kirk) going down the bench to grab Ollie (Laycock), insert him in late in the game, and after missing two FTs, hits the game winning basket??!!

I thought that's what you said! Unbelievable!! Congratulations to Hickory (Augusta). Save me a seat on the "River to Rupp" train. Very cool.

Mythical hands pulling for Panthers? Destiny some say! If Ollie hits FTs, Scott gets ball with double digit seconds left. Too, much time to give Jake Ohmer chance to beat you. Took guts for Coach Dale to draw up missed FT, spectacular rebound, swing around perimeter with 3 seniors touching before O. Crawford hits Ollie (Jack Laycock) for one dribble lay in for victory. Wasn't exactly the picket fence, but it was a thing of beauty.

I agree. Brad has had much better teams than this year!!

Yes, Carr has had better teams. Unfortunately, his better teams ran up against some great teams, like the GRC team from 2010. This year, while it isn't his best team ever, he has arguably his best player ever and this year all the teams in the region are pretty even....definitely the most winnable the region has been for Scott in my short memory (which only goes back about 12 years).

I'd agree. This was the Eagles best chance at Rupp. Seems like Scott teams, no matter the sport are always in the hunt for regional titles.

If you go by just points then Ohmer is the best, but overall wise I can name some from Brad's past teams that are just as good.

I will agree this year's region is more wide open and doesn't have the elite teams that Scott had to face back in 2007(GRC) and 2010 (GRC).

who? Asking because I don't know much on Scott teams of the past, other than Kellen Smith.

That's why I said arguably :D. Kellen Smith and Kyle Howard come to mind.

Anyone know who the fan was who got thrown out of the game between Augusta and Scott after the intentional foul was called on Maddox?

Word is MoCo asked that he stay home and not attend tonight, as he will not be allowed in the facility....

What is the reasoning? He got thrown out of one game...there isn't a suspension he has to deal with.

The reason was of poor sportsmanship. He has the ok to be present at Tuesday nights game.

I've seen fans get tossed for much worse and return the following game. Just wasn't sure who's policy that was.

I am almost 100% sure that came from the AD at MoCo.

I'm not sure they could keep him out because there is no such rule that a person that gets tossed out of a game can be restricted from going to the next game.

Up to the discretion of game management each and every game...they don't have to have a reason, just because is good enough

So, if this so called game management person/team decides they don't like someone for any reason they can keep said person out of a game? That's rinky dink and total BS

Just the way it is....if you have a consistent tool bag you have to spend time managing, instead of just running the game / tournament, then of course you would consider keeping them out. Simple economics of event management. In this case, it's not any reason, it's a demonstrated behavior that you are hedging against. (But it sounds like this person is going to get their second chance, so it's a moot point)
