The Spurs are too old to play at the Warriors pace and right now Barnes is trash and Bogut and Ezeli aren't playing well either. The Warriors have much room to get even better. The last time I saw a team this dominant was the 72 win Bulls. They won games they had no business winning simply because they refused to lose. The Warriors own this season. Maybe the offseason will defeat them. Or maybe they lose Bogut and Barnes and scoop up KD like the NBA insiders are saying. For this reason I don't buy into the idea that Dellavadova shut him down. Why would KD go there when he's going to beat them in the playoffs?

February 29, 201610 yr Tim Legler in NBA Live '97 was the most unstoppable force in video game memory. Steph is better. In all seriousness, some of the video game creators have talked about the difficulty in catering games to the increasing perimeter talent. I bet that is is. I saw a few vines on Sunday of guys playing NBA2K16 and saying it wasn't accurate cause Steph didn't make three one step across half court lol.
February 29, 201610 yr I realize that it was a very different era, but I would have a hard time overlooking Bill Russell in the GOAT conversation. Only 12 seasons in the NBA but 11 titles, 5 MVP's and a 12 time All Star. If his points per game were a little higher I wouldn't even hesitate to say he was the best ever. 15.1 ppg, 22.5 rpg, and 4.3 apg. Blocked shots were even an official statistic back then, but I found some articles online that speculate that he would have average 6 to 8 per game. The Celtics were stacked so the titles are inflated compared to what it would likely be if he played today, but he won MVP almost half the seasons he played.

If Kawhi Leonard is your primary offensive option, you won't beat the Warriors. If Tony Parker is your starting PG, you won't beat the Warriors. If LaMarcus Aldridge/Borris Diaw/Tim Duncan is tasked with containing Draymond Green, you won't beat the Warriors. Defensively, they stack up ok, but they just don't have the horses to score with Golden State, who by the way is a great defensive team as well. OKC is my pick to play the Clippers in the Western Conference Finals for those reasons.

I think the Warriors are the clear favorite, but beating the Thunder four times will be next to impossible with a healthy OKC, though home court will be quite the luxury. Donovan hasn't won me over by any means, but he's figuring it out and that's promising.
February 29, 201610 yr In order for this to happen, the Clippers need to steal the 3-seed from OKC to avoid the Warriors in the West semis. Not sure that can happen.

OKC is very talented though. I love the Spurs but think the only team with any shot to beat a healthy GS is OKC. Very little chance though...

I just think Russ and Durant are going to be too much on a nightly basis.
March 1, 201610 yr Author Steph is doing things nobody else has ever even thought of doing. I always thought Reggie Miller had the most range in NBA history. He would pull up from waaayyy out and shoot it effortlessly. Steph makes Reggie look like an amateur. He literally can pull up from 35 with it be considered good shot selection. NOBODY else could ever do that. Oscar just needs to shut up - he frankly looks foolish right now... Phil Jackson has joined the Big O's lawn club.
