Scott 58 Bishop Brossart 52 (37th District Semifinals)

Featured Replies

Just checked the DH vs Scott scores from the past five years. DH 5-0, smallest margin, 19. Luckily they aren't in the 34th.

2013 Scott won 73-64. But other than that you're correct.

Congrats to Scott. As always, a quality team from the 37th unfortunately has to stay home.

Usually not the Eagles. They've only missed the 10th Region tournament one time in eleven seasons.

Congrats Eagles ... Good luck against Campbell Co. Love the way Jake Ohmer plays the game, would like to see him get a chance to play in the Sweet Sixteen (although I'd also like to see Dontaie Allen get the chance, too).

This Brossart team left nothing on the court. This senior class of:

Jackson Crawford

Jacob Zai

Joey Hickman

Justin Rolf

Logan Schultz

John Ridder

David Kelley

Will go down as one of the most hard working, unselfish, most improved and just generally likeable group to come through the halls at BBHS.

They had a fantastic season and should hold their heads high. They out hustled, out worked, and out schemed their opposition throughout the year, all along doing it with the respect and class we have come to know from the Brossart program.

Scott was better last night, and they deserved the victory. Good luck moving on.

To the Brossart Seniors, good luck in your future endeavors....

Wow... I can't believe the Scott team I saw get housed by Dixie at BB&T just beat Brossart ending their season. I was impressed with the first half the Eagles played at home against CovCath, but I didn't think they had enough to beat the Mustangs.

Scott has a few of those games every year. They got off to a bad start in that game and Carr pulled all the starters and sat them very quickly. He sends a message like that at least once a season. That team you saw DH beat that night was the JV team for a good portion of the game.

So you are saying Dixie beat both the varsity and the JV on the same night.?

What I'm saying is the varsity team played poorly early on, Carr sat most of the starters to send a message that he wasn't happy with their performance and backups/JV kids played the vast majority of the game. Not saying Scott would have won, or even kept it close that night with the starters in the whole game.

What's your point??

Congrats to the Eagles!

We were well prepared for them. They were well prepared for us.

Mustangs jump out to a 10-2 lead, as Jake Zai scored our first 8 points.

As stated above, Mustangs led 28-17 with 1:47 to play in the half, when the Eagles capitalized on consecutive live-ball turnovers, making it a four point game at intermission, 30-26..

Mustangs outscored 22-9 in the third as Ohmer heats up by scoring 14 points, propelling his team to a 48-39 end of 3rd quarter advantage from which the Mustangs never recovered.

Several things stand out. Scott plays hard and defend hard. We struggled to get into our sets. Scott succeeded on dribble penetration.

Jackson Crawford who scored 29 in Taylor Mill on the 12th, managed 10 tonight, including a pair of three-pointers. Jake Zai, on the other hand, scored 7 vs the Eagles in Taylor Mill put up 19 tonight with four 3s.

Jake Ohmer, who victimized us for 23 in Taylor Mill, scored 29 tonight. We seem to be incapable of stopping Ohmer.

The Eagles forced 20 turnovers, many of which resulted in Scott baskets.

Eagles 13/20 from the free-throw line. Mustangs 7/10.

The Mustangs had three shots at getting to the district finals and advancing to the 10th Region tournament. Beat Scott in Taylor Mill, draw a 50/50% pill from the bottle, or beat Scott here in the district. We came up snake-eyes on all three. Some things just don't seem meant to be. This team had a lot of success this year. There are five teams who we have beaten this season who are in the 10th Region Tournament that will be happy that we are gone. They are getting no creme puff in the Scott Eagles.

Probably the toughest thing that Coach Mke Code has had to do, was to dismiss 7 quality seniors who have overachieved at Brossart for four years. These guys weren't just our players, but our friends. We enjoyed them, and they enjoyed each other. New startup for the Stangs next year, who will rebuild with two to-be seniors and a plethora of to be sophomores and juniors.

Scott will play Campbell County in the 37th District Finals Friday night at 7pm at the Middle School.

Despite the loss we will broadcast the Scott-Campbell County game live via our BMustangs.com website.

Excellent breakdown Mustang! Always a class act and very nice gesture broadcasting the finals.

Mustang, love your summary as always. Do you have a typo, misspell, or error by auto-correct???? Did not realized Coach Code dismissed 7 seniors from the squad.

He means "dismiss" as they lose those 7 guys to graduation.

I never had a point. It was your point i was trying to clarify. Scotts starters were pulled after halftime and that was the second time in 2 weeks that Mr. Carr pulled the starters.

He means "dismiss" as they lose those 7 guys to graduation.

I stand corrected. Should have never questioned Mustang's thorough grasping of proper use of our language. Google search confirms his usage in that context to be proper, such as an Army officer dismissing his troops when the job is done. Like it Mustang!

In the last 11 years, Coach Carr has led the Eagles to 10 out of the past 11 regional tournaments. That is incredible with how tough the 37th district has been over those years.

Believe the only year they missed was a few years ago when they lost in the 1st round of district to Campbell Co by 3 who went on to win region.

He means "dismiss" as they lose those 7 guys to graduation.

Dismiss, as in cutting the seniors loose following their final game, and addressing the returning players about the future/next year.
