hidinout Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 If 1 or the other does not we are going to stuck with a buffoon for a presidential candidate . But the R's ask for this situation. They gave the conservative base the back of their hand one too many times . And unlike Dem's who just march in line with their party the R's are obviously willing to look for new voices when not happy with the establishment . I cant see it happening , but Rubio looks to be the weaker of the two , he should drop to give a true R a shot at the nomination .
Voice of Reason Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 No way. They will run it to the end and take it to the convention floor as long as they keep getting the amount of voters they have been getting. If they can win enough delegates along the way to keep Trump from wrapping up the nomination before the convention, then we are looking at a brokered convention
WhoozYoDaddy Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 Just my opinion from what I see so far, but it seems that Cruz, Carson and Trump are vying for one of the final two spots in this race (the more outsider side), and that Bush, Kasich and Rubio are contesting for the other (the more establishment side). The real contest will begin when it is winnowed down to two.

Michael Reagan (along with many others) are begging for the Republicans to quickly settle on one candidate to oppose the Donald, but I don't see it happening until after Super Tuesday at the earliest. And probably not then.
se7ens Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 A disaster in South Carolina MAY knock out Bush and/or Carson, but I doubt it. I think the current six are in it through Super Tuesday. Trump is going to the convention, Cruz is going to the convention, and most likely Marco though Kasich still has an outside chance, especially if he can keep some momentum as we head to the Midwest (both Kasich and Marco will not go, one or the other). Bush and Carson virtually have no shot at this point.
Voice of Reason Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 I agree on Carson's days being numbered. Bush is trailing Kasich as of now in South Carolina and that would be a serious blow since Kasich is doing minimal campaigning in South Carolina. But I see Bush lasting till mid March before deciding to drop if his numbers don't get better.
Science Friction Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 Unless the Republicans coalesce around one dude(AND FAST!!!), Trump is your nominee and Hillary is your President. But they won't!!!

Twotoplace Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 Can someone say "brokered convention"? Most telling statistic from S.C. is that Trump-Cruz combined are raking in 60 percent of the GOP vote.
Voice of Reason Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 Kasich's South Carolina poll numbers are ranging from 4 - 14%. Bush is between 8-15%.
plantmanky Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 I still say if its not trump its Romney.
MayfieldFan Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 All the posts that attempt to use reason and logic or common sense are going to be wrong. If the candidate has money to continue, he will. Just follow the money, it is the only thing that matters.
LOOGY Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 The Dems better hope Hilary doesn't get nominated cause that will drive out republican voters like crazy to vote for a republican. If it's Hilary vs Trump, then the Donald is our next president. Bernie vs Trump, I think Bernie will win.
LOOGY Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 Kasich and Bush need to drop out quickly. They are splitting votes from Rubio who is constantly polling 3rd everywhere I believe. If they drop out he will become the favorite.
hidinout Posted February 17, 2016 Author Posted February 17, 2016 Yeah a TON of dem's think it will be a cakewalk if Trump gets the nod... I think Trump steam rolls her in a landslide . And I really dont want that. I'm like most dem's .. I'd rather feel the Bern ... old fool's harmless .
