Fair enough.

I am glad we were able to have this "high school level debate," as some wished to call it.

And again, even more relevant to this thread is that this group of kids had zero to do with the BLM movement of the BLM DC chapter. Whatever you want to call it. Asking someone if black lives matter shouldn't equal representation of the BLM movement.

How are you sure? Has anyone asked them if they are part of the BLM movement? I'm asking because I don't know.

Because BLM has largely been a non violent movement consisting of highly educated people who don't resort to robbing and assaulting innocent people. Not to mention this group was associated with a previous attack on another person and they are referred to as a gang. That's not what BLM is about or what they stand for.

I dont think they have caught them yet. I did see some brief video of the attack, and it will make you very upset when you see it.

Once caught, I'm not really sure what should or could be done to help these guys turn their lives around.

Send them to the front lines. Show them what the Marine had to endure.

I'm glad you said that, it takes me awhile to think how to say some things.

When I mentioned language, what I was referring to was the part they said "do black lives matter".

That's the common thing said with BLM and why I said the language used.

I doubt they would have ever used that wording unless hearing it elsewhere like the BLM

That still doesn't make them a part of BLM.

I agree but when they use the same wording or language as the BLM they get lumped into that group.

Truth. And that is when sensationalism takes place and people jump to conclusions. The fact that people would associate the BLM movement with these criminals is troubling and the media is at fault in its portrayal of BLM.

I agree somewhat. Sending any if these guys/kids to juvenile jail will do nothing. These guys need to be removed from their environment and taught respect and hard work which in turn should lead to a productive life.

I come across a lot of kids that say , I "got kicked out of school", I was sent to "alternative school" ect ect. A common thread in each kid is they found something to do in life, besides hang out. Usually a job they can call their own. If drugs aren't involved these guys have a fighting chance.

Years ago boys like these guys would be sent to the army, today they join a gang or start their own and the cycle begins.

Sorry to ramble, but tough love can fix a whole lot more than a slap on the wrist.

OK.

I thought BLM was involved in Ferguson and NYC protests that turned violent.

And the media on both sides will continue to screw up stuff on purpose or carelessly.

And it shouldn't be the media on both sides. Should be the media, fair, balanced, truthful, and investigating for the truth. But it's not.

Actually I'm not. Go apply for membership to a chapter. It's all online. There aren't BLM headquarters anywhere. You can't roll up to a BLM building in Atlanta and join. It's all online. Each place has an online forum dedicated to each city that has a chapter so they discuss things online about BLM in each city. So in that aspect each place has a chapter but the leader of each chapter is similar to theguru on BGP as each chapter is simply an online forum dedicated to their area like BGP is dedicated to KY. BLM has been and will continue to be an online movement with events from time to time that they organize online. You call it a chapter. I call it a movement.

I'm sorry, but the way you said that made me smile and think of this:

OK.

If I host a party and 1000 people come and 200 of them get unruly does that mean I endorsed those 200 people getting unruly?

I couldn't agree more. That's why I am here showing you where you got duped. :D
